The Zaakir Amidst the Ghaafileen

bismillahh

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اذْكُرُوا اللَّـهَ ذِكْرًا كَثِيرًا
O you who believe! Remember Allah in abundance ~ Al-Ahzaab 33:41

….

The Zaakir is one who’s heart is alive with abundant Zikr of Allah Subhaanahu Wa Ta’ala … By remaining in the perpetual remembrance of Allah, one gains the proximity and Ma’rifat of Allah. He is always conscious of Allah Subhaanahu Wa Ta’ala …

And, the Ghafileen are those who are neglectful of the Zikr of Allah Subhaanahu Wa Ta’ala. They have become totally heedless and oblivious of Allah. Their heart becomes dead without the remembrance of Allah, and, is likened to a helpless dead corpse…

….

Hadeeth

Rasulullah Sallallaahu Alaihi wa Sallam said :

“The one who remembers Allah among those who forget Him, is like
a warrior behind those who run away from the battle field.

The one who remembers Allah among those who forget Him, is like
a green tree in the midst of dry ones.

The one who remembers Allah among those who forget Him is like
a light in a dark house.

The one who remembers Allah, is shown by Allah Ta’ala, his abode in Paradise while he is still alive.

One who remembers Allah among those who forget Him, is forgiven
as many sins as the number of humans and animals”

Four Essential Requirements of The Sincere Seeker of Allah Ta’ala

bismillahh

Hazrat Thanvi Rahmatullah Alayh has mentioned a Prescription of ‘4 Actions’

for a Taalib-e-Saadiq (True Seeker of Allah Ta’ala) :

1. Munasabah ~ [Compatibility]

He should have compatibility with the Mentor who is guiding him towards Allah Taala.
Hence, when taking Baya’t, it is important that the Mureed (the one seeking Allah Subhaanahu Wa Ta’ala) must have compatibility with his Shaykh (Mentor). Munasabah is an important prerequisite, for the acquisition of benefit on the spiritual path of reformation. Without compatibility a person can not progress on this path.

2. Ittiba ~ [Obedience]

Ittiba means following the instruction and prescriptions of the Shaykh. This is necessary for the attainment of the goal … the ultimate pleasure of Allah Ta’ala. It is a grave error to believe that only the companionship of the Sheikh is sufficient. Without practising upon the teachings of the Shaykh, it is inadequate for spiritual reformation.

3. Talab-e-Saadiq ~ [True and Sincere Quest]

Islaah (Reformation) is not possible without Talab-e-Saadiq. This is not an easy task. It is a lifelong responsibility and struggle. Therefore, one’s quest must be genuine and sincere. One should regularly refer to one’s Shaykh with one’s weaknesses for them to be rectified.

4. Iraadah ~ [Intention]

One must be determined that one wants to change oneself and one must make a firm intention that whatever he is being taught, he must implement it in his life.

With every Heartbeat we say ‘Allah Allah’ and Ultimately Gain the Nisbat of Allah Ta’ala

bismillahh

ۗ أَلَا بِذِكْرِ اللَّهِ تَطْمَئِنُّ الْقُلُوبُ

Verily, in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest ~ Surah Ar Rad 13:28

When we make Zikr and say : ‘Allah…  Allah … Allah’, then the vice and evil that corrodes our hearts, the sin and all the dirt that has engulfed our hearts, is washed away and the heart is now filled with the love of Allah Ta’ala. The heart becomes clean and pure and immediately feels serenity, peace and tranquillity.

With every heartbeat we say, ‘Allah…  Allah … Allah’ … and the turmoils, worries, anxieties and distress of the soul vanish …

3 Ways of Gaining the Nisbat of Allah

Hazrat Thanwi Rahmatullah Alayh explains:

“By saying, ‘Allah…  Allah … Allah’, it is a means of a person connecting and reaching Allah”. He has likened the Zaakir with a person knocking on someone’s door. Like a person, who goes to someone in need of something and knocks on his door, he continues to knock and tap and wait at his door. Until the person does not open the door, he will not move away from that door because he is desperately in need of some requirement that he has. He wants that need to be fulfilled and will wait there and continue knocking.

Similarly … the one who makes the Zikr of Allah and says, ‘Allah…  Allah … Allah’, then he is like that person who is standing and knocking at the door of Allah. And when the door of Allah opens, then it opens wide. Allah does not open His door slightly … He opens it completely! And then the Zaakir is connected to Allah and gains the Nisbat of Allah.

● 3 Ways of Gaining the Nisbat of Allah :

1. Making Zikrullah regularly
2. Abstaining from Sins
3. Staying in pious company

May Allah Ta’ala give us that connection with Him.
