“Each one is a shining brilliant star from the vast ‘Galaxy of Sahaba R.A’ and a great source of inspiration to us all!” (Moulana Naeem Motala Saheb DB)
…
An excellent continuation of discussions on the ‘Shining Stars’ …
A Sahabi, famous even amongst the young of the Ummat of Rasullulah Salallahu Alayhi Wasallam … A Sahabi that we are all reminded of every single day of our lives … Whenever the call of Adhaan is given, 5 times a day, then a person is automatically taken back to none other than Bilal R.A and the Musjid of Rasullulah Salallahu Alayhi Wasallam …
When we hear the Adhaan, what respect do we have for it? We overlook the Muadhin and ignore them … It is mentioned that on the day of Qiyamah, the Muadhin’s will have the longest necks (meaning they would be outstanding) … They will be honored in the sight of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala … They will be shown special respect on the day of Qiyamah … At any given time in any part of the world there is a Muadhin calling out Adhaan. This no low task but rather a privilege because a Muadhin is selected by Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala …
In the discourses of the life of Bilal R.A, one is transported to the era of Rasullulah Salallahu Alayhi Wasallam and is reminded of the very origin of the Adhaan and the ‘Muadhin’ of Rasullulah Salallahu Alayhi Wasallam. Bilal R.A was extremely fortunate that he had been given specific glad tidings of Jannah … Under all afflictions, Bilal (RA) would exclaim:-
‘Ahad’ ~ The One (Allah) … ‘Ahad’ ~ The One (Allah)…
It is reported from Abu Hurairah : At the time of the Fajr prayer Rasullulah Salallahu Alayhi Wasallam asked Bilal RA, “Tell me of the best deed you did after embracing Islam, for I heard your footsteps in front of me in Paradise.” Bilal RA replied, “I did not do anything worth mentioning except that whenever I performed ablution during the day or night, I prayed after that ablution as much as was written for me.”
In another narration it is related that he said, “Whenever my whudhu is broken I make new whudhu and pray two raka’ats.”
(Bukhari, Muslim, Musnad Ahmad)
