13th February 2025 – Laylatul Bara’ah Program 1446
أَعُوذُ بِعَفْوِكَ مِنْ عِقَابِكَ وَأَعُوذُ بِرِضَاكَ مِنْ سَخَطِكَ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْكَ لَا أُحْصِي ثَنَاءً عَلَيْكَ أَنْتَ كَمَا أَثْنَيْتَ عَلَى نَفْسِكَ
(O’ Allah) I take refuge in your forgiveness from your punishment, and I take refuge in your pleasure from your anger and I take refuge in you from you. I cannot praise you as you ought to be praised. You are as you have praised yourself. (Shuabul Imaan)
لَا بَأْسَ طَهُورٌ إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ
LA BA’SA TAHOORUN INSHA-ALLAH
Do not worry … Your illness will be a means of cleansing of your sins, if Allah Wills ~ Bukhaari

Hazrat Ibn ‘Abbas RadhiAllahu Anhu reported Rasulullah Sallallaahu alayhi Wasallam visited a bedouin who was sick. Whenever he visited an ailing person, he would say, “La ba’sa, tahoorun In Sha’ Allah – [ Do not despair, Your sickness will be a means of cleansing your sins, if Allah wills].” ~ Bukhaari
وعنه أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم الله عليه وسلم صلى الله عليه وسلم ، دخل علي أعرأبي يعوده وكان إذا دخل علي من يعوده قال: “لا بأس، طهور إن شاء الله

عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ، قَالَ دَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ الْمَسْجِدَ فَإِذَا هُوَ بِرَجُلٍ مِنَ الأَنْصَارِ يُقَالُ لَهُ أَبُو أُمَامَةَ فَقَالَ ” يَا أَبَا أُمَامَةَ مَا لِي أَرَاكَ جَالِسًا فِي الْمَسْجِدِ فِي غَيْرِ وَقْتِ الصَّلاَةِ ” . قَالَ هُمُومٌ لَزِمَتْنِي وَدُيُونٌ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ . قَالَ ” أَفَلاَ أُعَلِّمُكَ كَلاَمًا إِذَا أَنْتَ قُلْتَهُ أَذْهَبَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ هَمَّكَ وَقَضَى عَنْكَ دَيْنَكَ ” . قَالَ قُلْتُ بَلَى يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ . قَالَ ” قُلْ إِذَا أَصْبَحْتَ وَإِذَا أَمْسَيْتَ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْهَمِّ وَالْحَزَنِ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْعَجْزِ وَالْكَسَلِ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْجُبْنِ وَالْبُخْلِ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ غَلَبَةِ الدَّيْنِ وَقَهْرِ الرِّجَالِ ” . قَالَ فَفَعَلْتُ ذَلِكَ فَأَذْهَبَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ هَمِّي وَقَضَى عَنِّي دَيْنِي .
Sayyiduna Abu Sa’id Al-Khudri Radiyallahu Anhu reports that once Rasullulah Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam entered the masjid and found an Ansari Sahaabi by the name of Abu Umamah Radiyallahu Anhu seated therein. Rasullulah Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam enquired of him: “Why is it that I see you in the masjid at a time when there is no Salah? He replied, O Messenger of Allah! I have a lot of debts and many worries.’ Rasullulah Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam replied : “Should I not teach you something which if you recite, Allah will remove your worries and pay off your debts? Say every morning and evening :
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْهَمِّ وَالْحَزَنِ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْعَجْزِ وَالْكَسَلِ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْجُبْنِ وَالْبُخْلِ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ غَلَبَةِ الدَّيْنِ وَقَهْرِ الرِّجَالِ
Allahumma Inni a’udhubika minal hammi wal huzni wa a’udhubika minal ‘Ajzi wal kasali wa a’udhubika minal bukhli wal jubni wa a’udhubika min ghalabatid dayni wa qahrir rijal
“O Allah! I seek refuge in you from anxiety and grief and I seek refuge in you from inability and laziness, and I seek refuge in you from cowardice and miserliness and I seek refuge in you from overpowering debts and from the subjection of man.” [Sunan Abu Dawud]
That Sahabi Radiyallahu Anhu says, ‘I did so and Allah Ta’ala removed my worries and repaid my debts.’ [Sunan Abu Dawud, Hadith: 1550 vol. 2 pg. 308 – 309]
The Virtues and Blessings of Reciting Abundant Durood Upon Rasulullah ﷺ
قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم : مَنْ صَلَّى عَلَىَّ صَلاَةً وَاحِدَةً صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ عَشْرَ صَلَوَاتٍ وَحُطَّتْ عَنْهُ عَشْرُ خَطِيئَاتٍ وَرُفِعَتْ لَهُ عَشْرُ دَرَجَاتٍ
Hazrat Anas bin Malik Radiyallahu Anhu narrated that Rasullulah Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam said : Whoever sends ‘one’ Salutation upon me, Allah Ta’ala will send ‘ten’ blessings upon him, ‘ten’ sins will be removed from him, his rank in Jannah shall rise by ‘ten’ ranks. ~ Sunan an-Nasa’i 1297
