Nabi Sallallaahu Alayhi Wa Sallam has said : The best of your days is Friday, because Adam (AS) was created on Friday and he passed away on Friday and Resurrection will take place on Friday. Therefore, you should invoke Allah blessings for me frequently on this day, because your invocations in this regard are presented before me ~ Abu Dawood

Lessons from Hadith Shareef ~ Fear Allah Wherever You Are ~ Whether You Are in Public or in Privacy

Hadith

Hazrat Abu Zar Jundub bin Junadah (RA) and Hazrat Mu’aaz bin Jabal (RA), reported that the Messenger of Allah, Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam, said:  “Fear Allah wherever you may be; follow up an evil deed with a good one, it will wipe (the former) out, and behave good-naturedly towards people.” ~ Al-Tirmidhi

  …

Important aspects discussed in this Hadith :

• Fear Allah Subhaanahu Wa Ta’ala in Public and in Privacy

•  The Concept of Taqwa ~ One must be mindful that Allah Subhaanahu Wa Ta’ala is watching him and therefore he must only do those things that Allah has commanded him to do and totally refrain from those actions that Allah has prohibited him from doing

• An Important Benefit of Taqwa – Whosoever fears Allah Subhaanahu Wa Ta’ala, Allah makes an opening for him from all his difficulties and sustains him from unseen sources

• Follow up an evil deed with a good deed. The good deed will obliterate the evil deed.

• Deal and meet with people with good character.

The Haqeeqat (Reality) of the Dunya

bismillahh

What is the Haqeeqat of Dunya?

This Dunya is transitory, short lived, ephemeral … It is going to come to an end oneday, when it will perish and be totally destroyed by Allah Ta’ala!

… But the Aakhirah (Hereafter) is Forever.

One has to therefore prepare and build his ‘Perpetual Home’ of the Aakhirah during his life, in this fleeting Dunya … He has to do good deeds in this world to reap its complete blessings in the Hereafter (in the beautiful lofty palaces of Jannah) …

The moment one’s time in this world expires, the opportunity to do righteous deeds terminate.

 …

Hence, we are exhorted in a beautiful poem by Sayyidina Ali (RA) to perform good deeds ‘now’, before we are overtaken by death and it is too late.

 …

Hazrat Ali (RA) says :

There is no home for a person after Maut (death), in which he will reside, except that home which he had built whilst he lived in the Dunya, till he passed away …

If a person builds his everlasting abode by performing good/pious deeds, then his home will be a beautiful palace in Paradise (Jannah) …

And, if a person builds his home by doing bad deeds, then he is undoubtedly going to be in utter ruin and perdition …

 …

Therefore, build your PALACE in the most beautiful Jannah that was made by Allah Ta’ala, whose bricks are of gold and silver, cemented by fragrant musk; and whose gate-keeper is the Angel ‘Ridwaan’ … and moreover, you will be honoured by becoming the neighbour of our Beloved Nabi Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam in Jannah …

Lessons from Hadith Shareef ~ Live in this World as a Traveller (or Wayfarer)

Hadith

It was narrated that Hazrat Abdullah bin Mas’ood RA said: “Rasulullalah Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam lay down on a reed mat, which left marks on his skin. I said, ‘May my father and mother be ransomed for you, O Messenger of Allah! If you had commanded us we would have spread out for you a softer bedding.’Rasulullalah Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam said, ‘What is there between myself and the world? This world and I are just like a rider who stops to rest beneath the shade of a tree then departs and leaves it behind.’” [Sunan Ibn Majah]
Rasulullalah Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam said: “By Allah, this world in comparison to the Hereafter is nothing but like one of you who dips his finger in the sea and removes it. So ponder how much (of sea water), does the finger return with.” [Mishkaat]
Hazrat Jabir bin ‘Abdillah (RA) said that Rasulullalah Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam once passed by the marketplace, passing from the area of al-‘Aliyah, while people were all around him. He then passed by a dead goat, whose ears were extremely small. He then took it by the ear, saying, “Who amongst you would like to have this (dead goat with small ears) for just a dirham?” They said, “By Allah! Even if it was alive, its small ears will be a deficiency, so how about when it is dead?” Rasulullalah Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam said, “By Allah! The dunya is even less significant in the Sight of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala than this is to you.” [ Muslim]

 …

Important aspects discussed in this Hadith :

 • Simplicity

 • Not attaching ourselves and filling our hearts with the love of the world

 • We have come into this transitory world, taking some shade for a few days and then we depart from this world and continue our journey to the Hereafter, without taking anything of this Dunya with us….

• Do not amass wealth. It makes one negligent of the Aakhirah …

• Wealth should be Halaal and used in avenues that take one closer to Allah Ta’ala … (Halaal wealth in the hands of a pious person is very beneficial because it will be used for good causes)

We are permitted to make use of the necessities of Dunya (what we require for daily life), but we have to ensure that our ship does not sail into the ocean of the Dunya. This heart of ours must NOT become submerged in the ‘love of this world’ or else it will sink…. As long as the ship is afloat … it will reach its destination …

May Allah Taala help us to detach ourselves from the love of this world and bring simplicity in our lives …

Khauf [Fear] for Aakhirah

bismillahh

O ye who believe! Fear Allah, and let every soul look to what (provision) He has sent forth for the morrow. Yea, fear Allah: for Allah is well-acquainted with (all) that ye do ~ Surah Al Hashr 59:18
