Hadith

: Hazrat Amr bin Maimun RA narrated : Rasulullah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam advised a man

“Appreciate five things before (you are overcome) by five things

• youth before old age,

• health before sickness,

• wealth before poverty

• free time before becoming preoccupied

and

• life before death.

Every person has these opportunities and times in which he should take maximum benefit from. When a person is young, has health, has wealth, has free time, etc,  then, he has the ability to do good deeds (perform Salaah, discharge Zakaat, go for Hajj, keep Fasts, and other Deeni activities) …

… but the moment the person becomes old, loses his health, has decreased wealth, no free time, and finally death overtakes him…… he loses the ability to do good deeds.

Therefore Rasulullah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam said that whilst you have these five advantages, then take maximum benefit of these bounties and please Allah Subhaanahu Wa Ta’ala…

Do not procrastinate!

Hadith

Rasulullah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam said: “Whoever amongst you rises in the morning, secured (having safety, security, peace) in his self / family / path; healthy in his body (from deadly diseases); having sufficient food for the day; then it is as if the world has been gathered for him.” ~ Tirmidhi

Just by having these 3 bounties, it is as though a person is the owner of the whole world! The entire world has been gathered for him.

Ulema say, that only when we become ‘deprived’ of these bounties that we truly appreciate them.  We do not realise the value of these bounties because we are always looking at people “above” us (as far as Dunya is concerned). Hence, these are treated insignificantly…

Hazrat Abu Hurairah RA narrated that Rasulullah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam said:

“Look to one who is lower than you(in Dunya), and do not look to one who is above you. For indeed that is more worthy (so that you will) not belittle Allah’s favours upon you.”  ~ Tirmidhi

**However, as far as Deen is concerned, a person should not look at one who is lower than him, but rather at that person who is above him (making so much of ibaadah, tilawat, salaah), and he should aspire to be like him …

Aafiyat

Rasulullah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam would repeatedly exhort the Sahaba RA to make dua for Aafiyat … What is the meaning of Aafiyat? It simply means possessing safety and peace from all types of calamities, trials, tribulations …. We have been blessed with the Nimats of safety, good health and sustenance and should make sincere Shukr to Allah Ta’ala and appreciate all these bounties …

__Dua for Aafiyat__

Allaahumma ‘innee ‘as’alukal-‘afwa wal’aafiyata fid-dunyaa wal’aakhira

O Allah, I seek Your forgiveness and Your protection in this world and the next

Hadith

Hazrat Abu Juraiy Jabir bin Sulaim RA reported: I noticed a man whose opinion was followed by every body, and no one acted contrary to what he said. I asked who he was, and I was informed that he was Rasulullah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam…

I said to him twice: “Alaikas-salam ya Rasul-Allah”. He said, “Do not say: `Alaikas-salam.’ This is the salutation to the dead (in Jahiliyyah times). Say, instead: `As-salamu ‘alaikum’

I asked: “Are you the Messenger of Allah?” He replied, “(Yes) I am the Messenger of that Allah, Who will remove your affliction when you are in trouble and call to Him, Who will cause food to grow for you when you are famine-stricken and call to Him, and Who will restore to you your lost riding beast in the desert when you call upon Him.”

I said to him: “Give me instructions (to act upon).’

He (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) said,

1 • “Do not abuse anyone.” (Since then I have never abused anyone, neither a freeman, nor a slave, nor a camel, nor a sheep).

He (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) continued,

2 •  “Do not hold in contempt even an insignificant act of goodness.

3 • Talk to your brother with a cheerful countenance, as this is an act of goodness.

4 • Hold up your lower garment half way to the leg, or at least above the ankles; for trailing it, is arrogance, and Allah dislikes pride.

5 • If a man imputes to you of bad things he knows you possess, do not impute to him bad things that you know he has, for he will assume the evil consequences of his abuse.”

Hadith

Hazrat Abu Huraira RA narrates:

Rasulullah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam said, “Allah will give shade, to seven, on the Day when there will be no shade but His”. (These seven persons are) :

1. A just ruler.

2. A youth who has been brought up in the worship of Allah.

3. A man whose heart is attached to the Masaajid.

4. Two persons who love each other only for Allah’s sake and they meet and part in Allah’s love.

5. A man who refuses the invitation of a charming woman of noble birth (for illicit intercourse with her) and says: I fear Allah!

6. A man who gives charity so secretly that his left hand even, does not know what his right hand has given.

7. And a person who remembers Allah in seclusion and his eyes are then flooded with tears.”

Lessons from Hadith Shareef ~ The Fountain (Al~Haudh) Of Al~Kauthar

Excerpts from ~ Ramadaan 1435 Programmes

bismillahh

When making Dua, we should Ask Allah Ta’ala to grant us the intercession of Rasulullah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam on the day of Qiyamah and bless us with the water of Haudh-e-Kauthar from his Mubaruk hands … If we bring the True Sunnats into our lives, together with making a proper Whudu and performing Salaah, we will acquire a brightness on our faces on the day of Qiyamah and Rasulullah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam will very easily recognise us and give us the water of Haudh-e-Kauthar from his Mubaruk hands to drink….

Narrated by Hazrat Abdullah bin Amr RA: Rasulullah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam said :

“My Fountain (Kauthar) is so long that it takes a month’s journey to cross it. Its water is whiter than milk, and its smell is more fragrant than musk, and its drinking cups are (as numerous) as the (number of) stars in the sky; and whoever drinks from it, will never be thirsty.”

~ Bukhari

: Narrated from Hazrat Ibn ‘Umar RA that Rasulullah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam said

“Kauthar is a river in Paradise whose banks are of gold and its bed is of rubies and pearls. Its soil is more fragrant than musk, its water is sweeter than honey and whiter than snow.”

Sunan Ibn Majah ~

Narrated by Hazrat Al-Musaiyab RA: Rasulullah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam said :

“Some men from my companions will come to my Al-haud (Lake-Fount) and they will be driven away from it, and I will say, ‘O Lord, my companions!’ It will be said, ‘You have no knowledge of what they innovated after you left: they turned apostate as renegades (reverted from Islam).
