A Transformation in our Lives

bismillahh

No person is perfect!

But, when Allah wishes to select a person and draws him towards Himself, and wishes to grant him Hidaayat, then nobody can stop that …

A transformation had taken place in the lives of many sinners when they pondered and reflected over this verse from Surah Al-Hadid …

Allah says :

Has the time not come for those who have believed, that their hearts should become humbly submissive at the remembrance of Allah ~ Surah Al Hadid 57:16

Therefore, people of Imaan should devote themselves to the Zikr of Allah and the recitation of Quraan. One’s Imaan becomes strengthened when the heart submits to Allah. That heart which is void of Allah’s Zikr will begin to harden. As the heart hardens, a person becomes more inclined towards the World and the concern for the Hereafter is then lost…

So many people are just caught up in ‘leisure and pleasure’ and are totally heedless in their lives. They may be Muslim by name, but their is no Ibadat (worship) found in their lives, there is no Taubah (repentance), there is no Khauf (fear) of Allah Ta’ala … So for them, their hearts become very hard and to live a life filled with Haraam, means nothing! Such a person, will then move towards Dunya and have no fikr for Aakhirat. Such a person will be dis-inclined towards Ibadat, Salaah and the Zikr of Allah…

PONDER!

We are all believers with the Mercy of Allah, but if we make an introspection of our lives …

• How are we spending our lives?

• How much of Ibadat are we making in our lives?

• How much of Zikrullah do we make daily?

• What type of Tilawat of Quraan do we make?

• What type of Roza’s do we keep?

• What type of Ta’alluq(bond) do we have with Allah Ta’ala?

• How much of Durood and Salaam do we send upon Rasullulah Sallalahu alayhi Wa Sallam?

• What type of Akhlaaq and character do we have?

  • How do we behave at home with our wives, children, parents, neighbours, on the road, in public, in privacy, in our factories, with our workers, with fellow human beings?

Has the time not come to submit and surrender to the Shariah of Allah Subhaanahu Wa Ta’ala?

Has the time not come to surrender to the commands of Allah Subhaanahu Wa Ta’ala and follow His rules and regulations?

Has the time not come for the believers that they should humble themselves before Allah Ta’ala?

:An Explanation of Verses of Surah Al Qalam

Indeed, We have tried them as We tried the companions of the garden, when they swore to cut its fruit in the [early] morning
 Without making exception.
So there came upon the garden an affliction from your Lord while they were asleep.
And it became as though reaped.
And they called one another at morning,
[Saying], “Go early to your crop if you would cut the fruit.”
So they set out, while lowering their voices,
[Saying], “There will surely not enter it today upon you [any] poor person.”
And they went early in determination, [assuming themselves] able.
But when they saw it, they said, “Indeed, we are lost;
Rather, we have been deprived.”
The most moderate of them said, “Did I not say to you, ‘Why do you not exalt [ Allah ]?’ “
Surah Al Qalam ~ 68:17 – 68:28

~ ALLAH Ta’aala informs us of how HE tested the Disbelievers of Makka as HE had tested the people of the “Orchard”. He makes mention of an incident of the past.

~ There was an extremely wealthy old man of Yemen who was blessed with abundant plantations filled with copious fruit and crops. He was a very generous man and he used to share his produce with the poor and the needy even permitting them to take whatever fell to the ground. After his demise, his three sons decided and agreed that their father was a fool to have been so generous and since their families had become larger, they resolved to harvest and keep all the produce exclusively for themselves. They pledged to harvest their plantations at the break of Dawn, before anybody else was around, but forgot their Lord and did not say “INSHA ALLAH”.

~ Indeed their plan was not good as they intended to deprive the poor. They planned, but ALLAH also Planned and ALLAH is The Best of Planners … As they slept unaware of their surroundings, ALLAH sent a forceful wind to completely destroy their plantations. They awoke early as planned and went out to fulfill their intent, proceeding secretly and swiftly. When they reached their plantations and saw the ravaged land, they thought that they had come to the wrong area and retraced their steps. When they finally realized their folly they lamented that they were ‘deprived totally’. The middle brother reminded them that he had said that they should Glorify ALLAH, but because he himself participated in the act of attempting to deprive the needy, he too was punished.

~ After initially blaming one another, they then repented over their blunder and admitted that they had been their own oppressors. They then made sincere Taubah (Taubatun Nasooha) and made dua that ALLAH give them something in lieu of their huge loss. (Commentators write that ALLAH Azza wa Jal blessed them with even more than what they had lost, for they repented sincerely.)

~ As human beings we are similar to the brothers above, ie : we make mistakes and upon realization thereof quickly blame others. What is important is that full acknowledgement and admission of our sins accompany our penitence. By feeling truly remorseful one resolves never to return to the sin again. THIS is Taubatun Nasooha.

~ By making abundant Taubah and istighfaar, ALLAH Rabbul Izzat blesses HIS makhlooq with rain, abundance in wealth and children….

Lessons from Hadith Shareef ~ Some Virtues of Surah Kahaf

 Excerpts from Ramadaan 1434 Programmes

bismillahh

Some Virtues of Surah Kahaf :

1. Hazrat Abu Darda’ Radiyallahu ‘anhu narrates that Nabi Sallallahu ‘alaihi Wasallam said: The one who recites the three verses of the beginning of Surah Al-Kahf will be protected from the trial of Dajjal ~ (Tirmidhi)

2. Hazrat Abu Darda’ Radiyallahu ‘anhu narrates that Nabi Sallallahu ‘alaihi Wasallam said: He who memorizes the first ten verses of Surah Al-Kahf will be protected from the trial of Dajjal. In another narration, it is the last ten verses of Surah Al-Kahf ~ (Muslim)

3. Hazrat Abu Sa’id Al-Khudri Radiyallahu ‘anhu narrates that Rasulullah Sallallahu ‘alaihi Wasallam said: The one who recites Surah Al-Kahf as it was revealed, it will become a Nur for him on the Day of Resurrection, from his place to Makkah. And the one who recites the last ten verses of it, even if the Dajjal appears, the Dajjal will not be able to overpower him. ~ (Mustadrak Hakim)

4. Hazrat Ibn ‘Umar (RA) narrates that Rasulullah Sallallahu ‘alaihi Wasallam said: ‘Whoever reads Soorat al-Kahf on the day of Jumu’ah, a light will shine for him from beneath his feet to the clouds of the sky, which will shine for him on the Day of Resurrection, and he will be forgiven (his sins) between the two Fridays.’” (At Targheeb)

An Explanation of Verses of Surah Tahreem

O you who have believed, protect yourselves and your families from a Fire whose fuel is people and stones, over which are [appointed] angels, harsh and severe; they do not disobey Allah in what He commands them but do what they are commanded.
O you who have disbelieved, make no excuses that Day. You will only be recompensed for what you used to do.
~ Surah Tahreem 66:6/7

‘ O you who have Imaan! Save yourselves and your families from the Fire, the fuel of which is people and stones. Stern and strong angels are appointed over it, who never disobey what ALLAH commands them and who carry out exactly what they are instructed.’

~ In Surah Tahreem ALLAH Subhaanahu wa Ta’aala warns the Believer that it is incumbent upon him to protect himself AND his family from Jahanam. This implies that a proper upbringing and Deeni taleem is essential. Food that is consumed must also be halaal because it has a direct effect on the body. The Sahaabiyaat (RA) used to tell their husbands to go out and seek halaal, as their bodies could endure hunger but Never the Fire of Jahanam.

~ Nowadays it is commonplace that emphasis is placed on Secular rather than Deeni Education. The basic taleem on Quran Sharief, Masaa’il of Deen and Sharaiah  is regarded as unimportant. Consequently our youth mature into adults with very little or no Deeni knowledge, the home is no longer a deeni environment, children in such households have weak Imaan and serious problems abound in society. This is just the consequence in the fleeting Dunya … What then of the Eternal Aakhirah?

~ ALLAH Subhaanahu wa Ta’aala warns that the blazing fire is extremely severe and the uncompromising, stern angels guarding  the inhabitants of Jahanam NEVER disobey ALLAH. The disbelievers are warned that NO excuses will be accepted on THAT Day for they received clear warnings but remained haughty and obstinate, preferring to disobey the commands of ALLAH

Taubatun Nasooha ~ Sincere Repentance :

O you who have believed, repent to Allah with sincere repentance. Perhaps your Lord will remove from you your misdeeds and admit you into gardens beneath which rivers flow [on] the Day when Allah will not disgrace the Prophet and those who believed with him. Their light will proceed before them and on their right; they will say, “Our Lord, perfect for us our light and forgive us. Indeed, You are over all things competent.”
~ Surah Tahreem 66:8

~ Immediately thereafter, the Believers are addressed and advised to make ‘sincere repentance’ (Taubatun Nasooha). Just as mending holes in a torn garment, holes in our A’maal are mended with sincere taubah.

Hazrat Muaaz ibn Jabal (RA) has been quoted to have said that in the same manner in which milk drawn from the udder of a cow cannot be returned to the udder, in the same way, one who makes sincere taubah does not return to the sin.

Yes, if one accidentally slips and commits the sin again despite a firm reslove not to return to it, ‘sincere taubah’ must be made again. ALLAH is Ar-Rahmaan and forgives ALL SINS right up until the pangs of death (sakraat) and until the sun rises from the West before Qiyaamah. Under these two circumstances, taubah is no longer accepted.

~ For the believer who makes sincere taubah, ALLAH will wipe out ALL sins and enter him into ‘Gardens beneath which rivers flow’ (Jannah).

ALLAH will never disgrace his Nabi Sallallahu Alayhi wa Sallam and the Believers. On that Day of Darkness, ALLAH will fortify them with Light ahead off and alongside them to guide them over “pul-siraat”.

~ For the Munafiqeen there will be no light and a barrier will be placed between the Munafiqeen and the Believers with Azaab on the side of the former and Rahmah on the side of the latter. When the munafiqeen question the believers claiming to have been with them, ALLAH will expose that the Munafiqeen had false hopes and selfish desires and always willed harm upon the believers …

An Explanation of Verse 51:55 of Surah Az Zaariyaat :

وَمَا خَلَقْتُ الْجِنَّ وَالْإِنسَ إِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُونِ
And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me ~ Surah Az-Zaariyaat 51:55

~ ALLAH Subhaanahu wa Ta’aala says in the Quran e Majeed that verily HE has not Created jinn and mankind except for His Worship

~ Indeed the purpose of our creation is made very clear in the above verse.

An Explanation of Verse 57::20 of Surah Al Hadeed :

Know that the life of this world is but amusement and diversion and adornment and boasting to one another and competition in increase of wealth and children – like the example of a rain whose [resulting] plant growth pleases the tillers; then it dries and you see it turned yellow; then it becomes [scattered] debris. And in the Hereafter is severe punishment and forgiveness from Allah and approval. And what is the worldly life except the enjoyment of delusion ~ Surah Hadeed 57:20

~ ALLAH says that this worldly life is nothing but ‘play’ or amusement. It is nothing but futility, a decoration, a rivalry between man where he competes to acquire Dunya.

~ When a child is little, enjoyment comes from playing with a simple toy. As the child gets older, more advanced toys are sought for pleasure and enjoyment and attention to self-beautification (decoration) is apparent. In adulthood, enjoyment is sought and comes from acquisition of assets and material possessions. The focus and enjoyment comes from investments, properties and amassing wealth. Indeed this world is Nothing but a ‘play’ ground. This entire Dunya is fleeting and will come to an end.

~ ALLAH Ta’aala gives the parable of a farmer who plants and watches crops grow as an example to understand this world. The rain which falls upon the land amazes the farmers who see their crops flourish as a result. After a while, however, the crops wither, become dry and yellow. Later, the crops become like chaff and destroyed. This is exactly how the Dunya is i.e. it will wither and be destroyed … it is not everlasting.

~ A person who becomes a slave of his passions and loses the purpose of his Creation by becoming absorbed, consumed and engrossed in this world, is warned of the Punishment of the Hereafter. One’s attention is therefore drawn to recognize ALLAH, obey His Commands and prepare for the Aakhirah … For him, ALLAH has Promised two things: HIS Maghfirat and Pleasure.

~ The Believers will be enjoying the bounties of Jannah when suddenly a Noor will cover them. When they look up, they will behold THE LORD and MASTER of the Universe ALLAH Azza wa Jal in ALL HIS MAJESTY. This sight will be SO BEAUTIFUL that all other bounties will be forgotten. The Believers in Jannah will then be asked if there is anything they require to which they will reply that there is nothing of which they are short in Jannah. ALLAH Subhaanahu wa Ta’aala will then say that He has one more thing left to give the Jannatis and HE will announce His Eternal Pleasure and Happiness with every Jannati. This is the ultimate Bounty.

~ This Dunya is a prison for the Believer. Believers cannot be consumed by the Dunya else greed sets in and when this occurs then one becomes blind to haq and the commands of ALLAH. It is in such a state of ghaflat that a person engages in anything whatsoever (stealing, interest, gambling, cheating) in order to acquire more. ALLAH does not want this for us.

We are advised to ‘race’ and vie with one another for good deeds and the Mercy of ALLAH. This world is the playground for competing and gathering the maximum Maghfirat of ALLAH and Jannat in the Aakhira.

All Favours and Bounties are from ALLAH and we get them in BOTH Dunya and Aakhirah … All we have to do is NOT LOSE SIGHT OF THE PURPOSE OF OUR CREATION
