When A Loss Occurs …

bismillahh

Be sure we shall test you with something of fear and hunger, some loss in goods or lives or the fruits (of your toil), but give glad tidings to those who patiently persevere, Who say, when afflicted with calamity: “To Allah We belong, and to Him is our return” Surah Al-Baqarah 2:155/156

 ….

In this world we may claim ownership, but in reality, everything belongs to Allah. Whatever Allah gives us, belongs to Him. Whatever Allah takes away, belongs to Him. Our lives, wealth, children, material possessions, all belong to Allah.

Everything has a fixed time and when its time expires, it returns to Allah Subhaanahu Wa Ta’ala.

We have to repeatedly remind ourselves, that we will go from this world taking nothing of the material possessions of this ephemeral world. We will depart with our hands bare!

The Believers will be Granted Light (Noor) on the Day of Qiyaamah

bismillahh

“On the Day when you will see the believing men and the believing women- their Light running in front of them and to their right hands, (it will be said to them): “Good News for you this Day! Gardens beneath which rivers flow! to dwell therein for ever! This is indeed the highest Achievement!” – Surah Al-Hadid 57:12

In Surah Al-Hadid, Allah Subhaanahu wa Ta’ala discusses, the condition of the believers and the hypocrites on the day of Qiyamah. He consoles and comforts the believing men and the believing woman, by bestowing them with glad tidings of immense Noor (light/effulgence) whilst the hypocrites shall remain in total darkness and chastisement, separated from the believers.

The intensity of the light that each Mu’min will have, will depend on the amount of A’maal-e Saalihah (good deeds) he or she has done in this world. The more A’maal e Saalihah you do in this world, the more greater and stronger will be your light on the day of Qiyamah.

Lessons from Hadith Shareef ~ The Great Rewards In Giving Sadaqah

bismillahh

Hadith

`Hazrat Aishah RA reported: Nabi (صلى الله عليه وسلم) had slaughtered a sheep and asked that the portions of its meat be distributed. Then he asked, “What is left of it?”. I replied, “Nothing remains except its shoulder (ie, it has yet to be distributed).” Thereupon he said, “All of it remains except its shoulder. (ie, its rewards)” [Tirmidhi]

Hazrat Mu’aadh bin Jabal RA related from Nabi (صلى الله عليه وسلم):
“Sadaqah extinguishes sin as water extinguishes fire.” ~ [Ahmad / Tirmidhi]

Nabi (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said: On the Day of Qiyamah a person’s Sadaqah will become his shade ~ [Musnad Ahmad]

Hazrat Abu Hurairah RA narrated that Nabi (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said: “Every day two angels come down from Heaven and one of them says, ‘O Allah! Compensate every person who spends in Your cause’, and the other (angel) says, ‘O Allah! Destroy every miser.’” ~ [Bukhari]

Some important aspects discussed in these Hadith :

• Numerous Benefits of giving Sadaqah in the Path of Allah

•  Giving Sadaqah becomes a provision and a blessing for a person.  (A reward from Allah Subhaanahu Wa Ta’ala)

• The moment a person gives Sadaqah, then he has fixed for himself Sawaab in the Hereafter. It becomes an ‘investment’ for the Hereafter

• Giving Sadaqah will save a person from a bad death and is also a means of erasing sins.

Hasten Towards Performing Good Deeds

bismillahh

3.133

Hasten towards the forgiveness from your Lord, and a Garden whose width is that of the heavens and of the earth, prepared for the righteous ~ Surah Al Imraan 3:133

What is the meaning of Hastening Towards Khayraat (Good Deeds)?

When man ponders over his existence and creation … Why has he been created? … Who is his Creator? … and how Powerful, Mighty and Supreme He is, then his heart will be naturally inclined towards worshipping and obeying that Mighty Creator : Allah Subhaanahu Wa Ta’ala. There will be a strong urge coming into his heart to perform actions pleasing to Allah Taala…

Hence, in the verses above, Allah Ta’ala exhorts the believers to perform actions that are good and full of reward.

When the inclination to do good deeds comes very strongly in one’s heart, then one should not delay, but should immediately do the good deed that he is prompted towards … He should NOT procrastinate.

In Arabic there is a word for procrastination known as ‘Tasweef’. It comes from the Arabic word ‘Sawfa’ which means ‘soon’ … Soon I will do it, or, later on … not now … but, when I get the time …

So what happens … One says : ‘soon’, ‘later on’ , ‘afterwards’ etc etc. All these lead to procrastination, and ultimately one fails to perform that particular deed …

Shaytaan has different ways of luring and enticing a person, deceiving him, ie : by causing him to delay and not performing the good deed …

Therefore, when a person is prompted to do some good deed/action then he should NOT delay. He should rather hasten towards good actions and not leave it for the “tomorrow” that may never come …

Remember! Time is passing by rapidly …

We say that we will do this good action tomorrow, but this strong inclination and desire of doing good later on, may not linger for long, but it may disappear altogether …

Hazrat Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) said, “Be prompt in doing good deeds before you are overtaken by trials/tribulations, which would be like huge chunks of a ‘dark night’. A man would be a believer in the morning and turn to disbelief in the evening, or he would be a believer in the evening and turn a disbeliever in the morning. He would sell his Faith for worldly goods.” – [Muslim]
