Believers are Brothers ~ Moulana Naeem Motala Saheb DB

Lessons from Surah Hujurat

Excerpts taken from a ‘Weekly Majlis Program’ :

This a Surah of Akhlaaq discussing Social Etiquette …

Believers are all brothers…Islam brought them together and bonded them…The Aus and Khazraj tribes living in Madinah were always at loggerheads with each other. Islam united and cemented their relationship. However, there were a few occasions when their pre-Islamic enmity would be ignited and they would begin to quarrel. Rasulullah Sallallaahu alayhi Wasallam would cause peace between them again.

Indeed, Allah loves those who act justly ~ Surah Al-Ĥujurāt 49:9

Don’t have Jealousy for one another … Don’t be Envious … Don’t harbor Malice … Don’t Oppress the other … Don’t turn your backs to the other … Don’t mock and ridicule one another … Don’t make Gheebat … Don’t Backbite … Don’t be Suspicious … Don’t find faults with one another …

Be the Servants of Allah as Brothers ….

Our entire lives are centered around these immoral traits. We should try and curb these evil tendencies of our heart.  If somebody dishonors your brother then it is your duty to stand up and defend him. We tend to ‘enjoy’ those few moments when a person is being spoken ill of! There are various virtues and blessings for that person who defends the honor of his muslim brother or sister. May Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala protect us. If we make a mistake and we plunge into the abyss of Haraam, filth, evil and vice … The doors of Taubah (repentance) are open! … We should make amends if we have usurped anyones rights and ask the person for forgiveness …

The Shining Stars 4 ~ Moulana Naeem Motala Saheb DB

bismillahh

Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala had selected the Sahaba RA to be in the Suhbat (company) of Rasullulah Salallahu Alayhi Wasallam. By being in the company of Rasullulah Salallahu Alayhi Wasallam, they became close to Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala. Their Imaan was strong and they followed and emulated the practices and teachings of Rasullulah Salallahu Alayhi Wasallam to such an extent that Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala was pleased with them …

Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala had given them glad tidings in this world …

What is fascinating about these Sahaba R.A, is that besides the common noble qualities that all of them had, if you look into each ones life, there is something outstanding about each Sahabi. They had beautiful and good character in them and it was because of the distinctive quality of Ahklaaq’ that Hazrat Hakeem bin Hizaam (R.A) had displayed, that Allah blessed him with Imaan …

Brief discussion on the life of Hazrat Hakeem bin Hizaam (R.A)

The Hour of Tahajjud Salaah ~ A Time of Unique Peace! ~ Moulana Naeem Motala Saheb DB

بِسْــــــــــــــــــمِ اَللّهُِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيم

Excerpts taken from Weekly Tafseer Discourses : Moulana Naeem Motala Saheb DB explains :

In Surah Muzammil, Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala expatiates on aspects related to Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam and his devotion to Tahajjud Salaah.

In this highly stressed Sunnah, the true and genuine Muhabbat one will show to Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala is when one stands up at night and performs a few Rakaats in communion with Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala.

It is such a serene time ….Everything is silent…Everything is still….It’s so peaceful…It’s a time exclusive for you and your Allah!

It is a time of unique peace!

For those that remain away from their beds at night and spread out their Mussallahs…It’s benefits are numerous. One becomes so consumed, so absorbed and engrossed in talking to Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala in supplication, in Du’aa, in Tilawat of the Quraan, in Ruku and Sajda…the enjoyment surpasses the people of the world and whatever their amusement may be…you cannot compare the both….

A person who reads Tahajjud Salaah…his ‘Rooh’ (Soul) becomes ‘illuminated’…It is that time of the night when a person is helped by Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala to suppress his evil desires and keep them under control…..It is that time of the night where it is most effective for the heart, the eye, the ear, the tongue to mutually correspond and conform with one another…

The tongue is reciting … The ear is listening …The heart is absorbing!

SubhaanAllah!

May Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala give us Taufeeq of reading Tahajjud Salaah…

Benefits of Reading Tahajjud Salaah :

• It is a means of becoming “close” to Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala

• It is a deterrent for you in committing sins

• It is a means of wiping out a persons sins

• It helps to remove the illnesses of the physical body

Reasons and causes for the deprivation Tahajjud Salaah :

• No ‘firm’ Niyyat to wake up

• Indulging in sins

• Haraam food entering our system

• Harbouring evil thoughts in one’s heart regarding a fellow muslim

Appreciate the Bounties of Allah ~ Moulana Naeem Motala Saheb DB

بِسْــــــــــــــــــمِ اَللّهُِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيم

Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala is pouring out His blessings before us all the time! We forget the thousands of bounties (Ni’mats) Allah has bestowed upon us. We should obey Allah in times of difficulty and ease and thank Allah in all conditions. If we dont make Shukr for any bounty that we have, Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala will snatch away that bounty from us!

“A breath of fresh air … A morsel of food … One sajda before Him” …

We dont reflect …

We have to make Shukr by means of our tongues, by verbally expressing our gratitude to Allah and by means of our good actions and deeds. When we are obedient to Him and carry out His instructions and injunctions and refrain from all those things that He has prohibited us from … then sincere Shukr becomes manifest in our actions …

When man is blessed with bounties and enjoyment of this life ….then he turns away…. and shows signs of apathy and indifference to Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala  … And the moment some calamity befalls him, then he runs towards Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala.

Allah is the only One who can rescue us!

The root of our problem is the fact that we are ‘neglectful’ of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala … When Allah appreciates our Ibaadat … then how much more should we appreciate Allah as our Rabb? How much more should we then reflect and ponder over the Imaan we have been blessed with? Should we not show gratitude to Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala?

Allah has clearly emphasized to us in the Qur’aan, that if we make Shukr for the bounties He has conferred upon us, He will most certainly grant us an increase in those bounties. He says :

“La-in shakartum la azeedannakum” ~ (Surah ‘Ibrāhīm 14:7)

‘If you are grateful, I will surely increase you [in favor]
