Lessons from Hadith Shareef ~ Keep your Tongue Moist with the Remembrance of Allah

Hazrat Mu’adh bin Jabal (RA) said that the last words I heard from the Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) were, when I asked him: Which deeds are most favoured by Allah, He said: “To die and your tongue is moist with remembrance of Allah.” [Tabarani]

. . . .

This Hadith highlights the importance of engaging in Zikrullah at all times.

Instead of futile and indecent talks one should engage in Zikrullah.

When a person is going to making the Zikr of Allah, in abundance, with dedication and Yaqeen (conviction) in Allah Subhaanahu Wa Ta’ala … then the Noor of that Zikr is going to settle into his heart and move into every part of his body …

And then ….

When he will “see”, he will refrain from Haraam and look at “Halaal” only …

When he will “touch”, he will refrain from Haraam and he will touch Halaal only …

He will “walk” towards Halaal only and not towards Haraam …

His “thoughts” will be of that which is permissible and Halaal …

All this is because of the effect of Zikrullah!

So, the more Zikr a person makes, the more Noor permeates into his body, and this will enable him to do righteous and good actions throughout his life . . . till his Maut (death).

May Allah Ta’ala give us Taufeeq and Hidayat to make Amal.

Zikrullah ~ A Cure for the Ailments of our Heart

Allah ‘Consciousness’

The more we make the Zikr of Allah Subhaanahu Wa Ta’ala the closer we will become to Him. His love will come into our hearts….. We will then become obedient slaves unto Allah. We will want to obey Allah Taala always. We will realise that He is watching every single action of ours.

Our Ibaadat has become a ritual. We are bereft of “Allah consciousness” … May Allah Ta’ala grant us that “consciousness” and the Sifat of Ihsaan (as though we are seeing Allah Ta’ala in our Ibaadat, or at least He is watching us), be it our Salaah, Zikr, Tilaawat, Dua, or our social and monetary dealings, infact in every single action of ours.

A Cure for the Ailments of the Heart

The words, songs and poetry of the pop singers and musicians of this world, only brings BLEMISH to a Mu’mins heart … But the words of the Aarifeen, the Aashiqeen, who relate to us the words of Allah and Rasulullah Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam, don’t BLEMISH the heart … they infact POLISH the heart. They bring NOOR into a persons heart …

They bring us closer to Allah Subhaanahu Wa Ta’ala and make us realise that everything is in His control. HE alone deserves all Praise … HE is the Creator … HE is the Nourisher … The sun, the moon, the stars, the trees, the animals, the insects, Jinn, Insaan … everything is in His control. Allah is All-Knowing, Allah is All-Seeing, Allah is All-Hearing …

The name of Allah Subhaanahu Wa Ta’ala has such sweetness in it, that it is a cure for the illnesses and ailments of our heart. It is a remedy for the maladies of our heart. “Naam Tera Mere Dil Ki Hai Dawa”Oh Allah! Your beautiful name is a medicine (Dawa), a cure for my heart!

May Allah Ta’ala help us to make HIS Zikr correctly and ponder over HIS greatness …

The Believers will be Granted Light (Noor) on the Day of Qiyaamah

“On the Day when you will see the believing men and the believing women- their Light running in front of them and to their right hands, (it will be said to them): “Good News for you this Day! Gardens beneath which rivers flow! to dwell therein for ever! This is indeed the highest Achievement!” – Surah Al-Hadid 57:12

In Surah Al-Hadid, Allah Subhaanahu wa Ta’ala discusses, the condition of the believers and the hypocrites on the day of Qiyamah. He consoles and comforts the believing men and the believing woman, by bestowing them with glad tidings of immense Noor (light/effulgence) whilst the hypocrites shall remain in total darkness and chastisement, separated from the believers.

The intensity of the light that each Mu’min will have, will depend on the amount of A’maal-e Saalihah (good deeds) he or she has done in this world. The more A’maal e Saalihah you do in this world, the more greater and stronger will be your light on the day of Qiyamah.

Some of the Good deeds that assist in acquiring Noor on the day of Qiyamah, are mentioned in these selected Hadith of Rasoolullah Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam :

• Hazrat Abu Huraira Radhiyallahu anhu reports that Rasoolullah Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam said: “Whoever recites just a single verse of the Quraan, it will be light for him on the Day of Qiyaamah” (Ahmad)

• Hazrat Abu Hurairah Radhiyallahu anhu narrated that Rasulullah Sallallaahu alayhi wasallam said: “Whoever sends durood upon me, it shall cause light on the bridge of Siraat” (Dailami)
