Greed for Fame and Wealth

That home of the Hereafter We assign to those who do not desire exaltedness upon the earth or corruption. And the [best] outcome is for the righteous. (Sarah Al-Qasas  28:83)

Hazrat K’ab bin Malik Radiallahu Anhu reported: Rasulullah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam said, “Two hungry wolves sent in the midst of a flock of sheep are no more destructive to them than a man’s greed for wealth and fame is to his Deen.” [Tirmidhi]

Glory to Him Who has subjected these to our (use), for we could never have accomplished this (by ourselves), … And indeed we, to our Lord, will [surely] return. [Surah Zukhruf 43: 13/14]

5 Questions Man will be Asked on The Day of Qiyamah

Hazrat Ibn Mas’ud Radhiallahu Anhu narrated that Rasulullah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam said:

“The feet of the son of Adam shall not move from before his Lord on the Day of Judgement, until he is asked about five things : about his life and what he did with it, about his youth and what he wore it out in, about his wealth and how he earned it and spent it upon, and what he did with what he knew (his knowledge).”
